Maurice Guiraud Rivière - Georges Carpentier - Statue of Boxer - Art Deco

Beautiful statuette, interesting and dynamic, in Art Deco style.
Signed ‘Guiraud-Rivière' on the base, as shown in pictures.
Extremely rare and exclusive, very few copies in circulation, almost unobtainable in such conditions and unique in its kind.
Made by the famous Maurice Guiraud-Rivière (1881–1947).
The sculpture depicts the boxer Georges Carpentier, who was the first French professional boxer to become a world champion in 1920.

This design by Guiraud-Rivière will later become an automotive mascot. This is why this piece is very rare, as it is a particular variant, with a marble base instead of the classic cast which used to be placed on cars.

Original, Made in France.
The statuette is in excellent overall condition, its golden patina is original and in very good condition.
It rests on a black marble base.
Signed ‘Guiraud-Rivière' on the base.
